The Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) on August 04, 2026 has rolled out a new Insured Person (IP) Registration module within its ERP system, aimed at streamlining the registration of employees under the ESI Scheme.
The key highlights are as follows:
New Functionality: The module enables employers to process and manage IP registrations directly through the ERP system, including capture of employee details and generation of the Insurance Number.
Employee Self-Authentication: Employees can now complete the authentication step via the ESIC Health Connect App, making the process more accessible and user-friendly.
User Manual Issued: ESIC has circulated a detailed User Manual covering the workflow, operating instructions, and screenshots for the new module, intended for training and implementation purposes.
Directions to Regional/Sub-Regional Offices: ESIC offices have been directed to:
Circulate the User Manual to relevant officers, Branch Offices, and stakeholders;
Conduct training/orientation sessions for field staff; and
Support employers and Insured Persons in adopting the new process.

Employers registered under the ESI Scheme should familiarize themselves with the new ERP-based IP Registration process and ensure that relevant HR/compliance personnel are equipped to use the module. Employers should also be prepared to guide employees on using the ESIC Health Connect App for the authentication step, where applicable.
